As a motorcycle rider, you need protection from a variety of hazards. We all wear the right gear, use the best helmets for us, and are always careful of other drivers, but one thing that many riders forget is that having the right eyewear for riding is also very important. Motorcycle sunglasses protect your eyes from dust, dangerous glare, and wind. There are a myriad of great motorcycle glasses on the market, and if you intend to use a helmet without a windshield, good motorcycle glasses become a necessity.
Here’s a quick rundown on what you should look for in a good pair of motorcycle glasses:

  • Prescription: If you need glasses to drive, then it’s imperative that you have them when you’re riding your motorcycle as well. Fortunately, if you want a good pair of motorcycle glasses, you can get them with a prescription as well. The majority of products that you’ll see in the reading section can have their lenses swapped with prescription ones so that you’ll be able to see clearly as you ride.
  • Polarization: Polarization is very important when selecting a pair of motorcycle glasses. Having a good pair of polarized lenses will help greatly reduce glare and provide a clear and crisp view of the road and other vehicles. One added benefit of polarized lenses is that they will also cut down on the glare that comes off of a car’s windshield or a wet road. When you are on your motorcycle, this extra clarity can help you easily avoid road hazards.
  • Foam Padding: Foam padding’s benefits are two-fold. First, the padding will add comfort to the daily wear of motorcycle glasses. Wind will push your glasses into your face, and without foam, this can be very uncomfortable. In addition to its comfort features, the foam also can serve as a lock against debris. Since the foam forms a seal between the glasses and your eyes, debris will have no way of reaching you.
  • Strap Compatibility: For those who use open-faced helmets, this is very useful as some hard winds can cause you to lose your motorcycle riding glasses. The best models have a strap that’s removable when you’re not riding.
  • Photochromic or Transitions Features: These are great for day and night rides. Photochromic lenses become darker when exposed to UV light and stay clear in its absence. This means that you’ll have glare and light protection during the day and clarity at night. The one drawback of this feature is that these glasses never get quite as dark as some riding glasses.

1) Choppers Night Driving Riding Padded Motorcycle Glasses 011 Black Frame with Yellow Lenses

Our first motorcycle riding glasses are by Choppers, a brand that specializes in this type of product. Their Night Driving glasses are great at capturing light and providing clarity, despite not being a polarized model. If you’re planning on doing a lot of daylight riding, we found that these glasses have a great ability to filter light so that the majority of the vision hindering glare is reduced to manageable levels.
While we wouldn’t recommend these for night riding as they tend to make everything a little too dark, these are great for those with light sensitivity or those who just want a bit of UV protection for their eyes when riding.
When it comes to functionality, these don’t come with a strap, but they tend to clip on tightly to the side of your head. In addition, these are padded so that they are very comfortable to wear in a wide variety of riding situations. While these aren’t the most durable glasses in this guide, they can take a bit of a punishing.
Motorcycle glasses need to be stylish as well as functional and this model fit the bill well in that regard. The frame of the model we reviewed is colored black and the lens is tinted yellow. The combo of these two colors looks great when riding during the day. In addition to this coloration, there is an additional 11 color combinations to choose from; just in case the yellow and black isn’t your thing.
2) Global Vision Kickback Motorcycle Glasses

The second product in our guide is a very durable model of motorcycle glasses that are also stylish. These glasses really shine in the foam department. Many glasses use this material for both comfort and to provide a close fit that will reduce the amount of air and foreign particles that can get inside the viewing area. These have a particularly close fit that really only lets a little air through. If you are a speed demon, then these will really be great for your particular type of riding as they will definitely greatly reduce incoming wind.
The durability of these glasses is also of a high level. Global Vision crafted these particular riding glasses out of polycarbonate, a very durable material that resists scratches and impact damage. When it comes to reducing glare and light, these are UV 400 coated glasses, so you shouldn’t have too much of an issue with the sun, though very bright days may still be a bit annoying. In addition to this UV coating, these glasses are also coated to resist moisture and fog buildup.
While there is no strap for these, they grip moderately well and have a soft matte surface that feels comfortable. These glasses come in five unique colors, so you should be able to find a pair that fits your style neatly.
3) Cycle Clear ZX1 Motorcycle Glasses Goggles

Our next set of motorcycle riding glasses is the Cycle Clear ZX1 Motorcycle Glasses Goggles. These motorcycle glasses have a goggle shaping so that is perfect for anytime riding. There is also a built in strap with a buckle-based adjuster so that you can achieve a comfortable fit when you’re riding. Also to ensure a snug fit, these glasses also have a very flexible construction that can be bent and stretched slightly.
Airflow in these is also provided by several vents. These vents allow air into the viewing area at a controlled rate so that you will experience minimal fogging. In addition to this, these glasses also greatly reduce the amount of light coming into your eyes, ensuring a great ride without worrying about sun dangerously obscuring your vision. Also, when it comes to the foam fitting, for many riders there will be no gap at all, meaning that detritus and excess wind won’t bother the eyes.
While there is only one model of these motorcycle glasses, you’ll find that the default version is very stylish and the manufacturer also has included a carrying bag as well as a cleaning cloth that will help you clean the glasses when you need to.
4) Bikershades Motorcycle Polarized Sunglasses Foam Padded with Safety Polycarbonate Lenses

These Bikershades Motorcycle Polarized Sunglasses are great glasses to take with you on the road. Like our previously reviewed product, these are made of super-durable polycarbonate, so you can put these glasses through a lot of punishment without worrying about them breaking. In addition to this, they use a flexible technology that has a memory, which means that they are flexible enough to fit many face-types and still return to their original shape.
The foam on the inside of these glasses is also very comfortable feeling. In addition to this level of comfort, the foam fits closely to the face; helping keep foreign material away from your eyes. Since you may be using these when driving on hot days, these are also sweat-proof, which will keep them nice and dry, even when you aren’t.
They also have a great glare-reducing coating and are also light enough that they can be used safely for night riding. As mentioned in our previous section, polarization goes a long way to providing clarity while you drive you motorcycle, so it’s nice to know that Bikershades offers a polarized version of these glasses as well.
These glasses are very stylish, and outside of the polarized versions, you will have high definition versions and different colored versions to choose from as well.
5) Get Lost Helmets Clear Motorcycle Riding Goggles

Our second riding goggles in this guide, these models by Get Lost Helmets do a great job of protecting your vision and delivering clarity while you ride your bike. Like our first goggles, these use a strap that helps you attain a tight fit that will not be hindered by wind or vibration. The goggles are also very flexible so that you will be able to get a great fit on your head.
Airflow needs to be controlled by a good pair of riding glasses and these do a great job in this regard. To control the air a tight fit is made around the eyes, but to avoid misting and fogging, these goggles also use an open nose area so that air doesn’t get trapped within the confines of the goggles.
To ensure that these last a long time, Get Lost Helmets utilized thermoplastic polyurethane frames and scratch-resistant lenses in these goggles construction. As a result, these are some of the most road-worthy riding glasses on this list.
These stylish goggles don’t have their own tint; but fortunately, the company has made these goggles easy to insert prescription eyeglass lenses or sunglasses inside of the frame.

These grinderPunch glasses come in a two pack that will help you accommodate your vision to day or night riding. Inside both pairs of glasses is a ridged foam system that does a good job of keeping too much air away from your eyes. While these don’t utilize a strap, you can add your own or rely on the grip of the temples, which is relatively strong.
When it comes to construction, grinderPUNCH used polycarbonate in the production of these glasses, meaning that they can take a lot of punishment.
7) 3 Pairs Kickback Foam Padded Motorcycle Sunglasses

Whereas our last products had two glasses, our final product includes a set of three. Like our last product, each pair of these motorcycle riding glasses is designed for a different riding condition. The tinted ones are designed to provide protection for your eyes from the harsh sun. These are very dark and work well even on the sunniest days. The clear pair, on the other hand, is designed for nighttime riding and work well in this use. The final pair, which are tinted yellow but are not polarized, are designed to provide clarity during rain and other forms of inclement weather.
On all of the included glasses, surrounding each lens is a thick foam padding that’s perfect for providing a comfortable seal when riding. These foam sections are actually very thick, so you might get a bit of fogging when you first start riding, though this quickly clears up.

Protecting your eyes from the hazards of the road can be as important as any other form of protection that you employ when you are out riding your motorcycle. As a result of this, it’s important to choose the right motorcycle riding glasses, especially if your helmet doesn’t have a wind blocking visor. All of the products that we’ve featured in this guide provide excellent protection for your eyes and are all reasonably priced as well.
In our opinion, the best pick of the products we’ve featured here is the Bikershades Motorcycle Polarized Sunglasses. We really like how durable they are since they are made of polycarbonate. We also like how they flex fairly easy and are soft in the right places so that wearing them is comfortable.
Many riders search for the best bang for their buck when searching for a good pair of riding glasses, and we think that the Global Vision Kickback Motorcycle Glasses fits the bill in this area. These are very cheap at $8.54 but still don’t skimp on things like UV protection and durability.
